What started as an idea from festival founder Darlene Johnson has grown into a can’t-miss annual tradition celebrating all things RHUBARB. If it’s made with rhubarb, you’ll find it here!

Our small but mighty town of 3,600 was proudly named the Rhubarb Capital of Illinois in 2007, and each year thousands of visitors make their way to the county seat of Mercer County to join the fun.

The festival is easy to find at the crossroads of Illinois Highways 17 & 94 and spreads throughout:

• The lawn of the Mercer County Courthouse 

• The beautiful, historic streets of Downtown Aledo
