Aledo Honors America’s 250
In 2026, Aledo joins communities across Illinois and the nation in celebrating a historic milestone — the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence! 2026 marks a Semiquincentennial year of reflection, pride, and community celebration as we honor America’s journey from 1776 to today.
For one special week in early July, downtown Aledo will come alive with events designed to celebrate our country’s heritage, bring neighbors together, and showcase the spirit of community that makes Aledo special.
July 4th Celebration in Central Park
Celebrate Independence Day with classic favorites including:
Firemen Pancake Breakfast- 6:00AM
Frog Races- Registration at 8:00AM, Races start at 9:00AM
Live Community Band Concert in the Bandshell- 12:00PM
From Sea to Shining Sea — Bell Ringing Ceremony
At 1:00 PM on July 4, Aledo will join a nationwide effort to ring bells in honor of the Declaration of Independence — covering the nation in sound and commemorating our shared history.
Liberty & Legacy Festival at the Fairgrounds 3:00PM-10:00PM
Enjoy Food & Drink vendors, kids activities, and an all-new drone show followed by fireworks that light up the night in celebration of America’s 250th year.
