Aledo Rhubarb Fest

Friday, June 7th & Saturday, June 8th, 2013
This unique festival, which is celebrating our 22nd year, will feature more than 3,000 homemade Rhubarb Pies for sale, Rhubarb Sampling, 12,000 free Rhubarb seeds given away, crafts, music, entertainment and more all set in our historic downtown.  We're so serious about our Rhubarb that Governor Pat Quinn officially named Aledo the Rhubarb Capital of Illinois!

Friday Events
What to Eat Rhubarb & Otherwise!
10 am - 2 pm Sample everything from Rhubarb Pie to wine a the "The Tasting" under the Big Blue Tent in Central Park and in Aledo businesses.
9 am - 3 pm Rhubarb bake sales in Central Park and in the downtown businesses.
10 am - 2:30 pm Free Trolley Tours - See all that Aledo has to offer by taking a tour of our town.
11 am - 1:30 pm Luncheon at the United Methodist Church - 301 N. College Ave.
11 am - 2 pm First Baptist Church youth will serve pie and ice cream dessert at the Central Park pavilion.

Remember to bring your lawn chairs to make sure you have a seat for all the great entertainment.
11 am - 1 pm Fry Daddies

What To Do!
9 am - 4 pm Antique/flea market & craft show - In the parking lot just north of Central Park
10 am - 3 pm Stop by the Aledo Main Street booth in Central Park and pick up your share of 12,000 Rhubarb Seeds and an Aledo Shopping/Service Guide- ALL FREE!
10 am - 4 pm Stop in all the participating businesses to sample rhubarb treats & sign up for drawings.
10 am - 4 pm Aprons, Quilts & More by Mercer County Quilters at the Aledo Depot - East of Central Park
9 am - 4 pm Book Sale at Mercer Carnegie Library - 200 N. College Ave.
10 am - 5 pm Visit the Essley Nobel Museum - 1406 SE 2nd Ave.
   
Saturday Events

6 am - 10:30 am Aledo Volunteer Firemen serve up warm, delicious pancakes at the Fire Station - 211 SE 3rd St.
10 am - 2 pm Sample everything from Rhubarb Pie to wine at the "The Tasting" under the Big Blue Tent in Central Park and in Aledo businesses.
9 am - 3 pm Rhubarb bake sales in Central Park and in the downtown businesses.
9:30 am - 2:30 pm Free Trolley Tours - See all that Aledo has to offer by taking a tour of our town.
11 am - 1:30 pm Luncheon at the United Methodist Church - 301 N. College Ave. Delivery in Aledo
11 am - 6 pm Enjoy the "catch of the day" at the Masonic Lodge Fish Fry at our new fire station, 211 SE 3rd St., across from Central Park

8 am 5K Rhubarb Run/Walk takes off from the Mercer Co. YMCA - 401 SW 2nd Ave.
9:15 am YMCA Little sprouts & 1 mile fun run
9:30 am Alley Art - Be creative, paint a square.
9 am - 4 pm WOW!! Huge craft show! SATURDAY ONLY! Crafts in the Courtyard offers over 100 quality exhibitors on the lawn of the Mercer County Courthouse - 100 SE 3rd St.
9 am - 4 pm Antique/flea market & craft show - In the parking lot just north of Central Park

10 am - 5 pm Step back in time with a visit to the Essley Nobel Museum - 1406 SE 2nd Ave.

If you're coming to the Fest to sample the Rhubarb or to buy a Rhubarb Pie, please plan on coming before noon for the best selection.
 
A Shuttle Bus will be available at the First Baptist Church, 800 NE 6th Ave., and will drop off at Central Park

Handicap Parking will be available

Golf cart shuttles will be available downtown
